Atos Life sciences centre of Excellence

the Atos Life Sciences Center of Excellence brings leading-edge technologies closer to research projects with the goal of discovering fresh, innovative solutions that will have a positive impact in society.

For researchers and technologists worldwide, it is a unique opportunity to explore the power of advanced computing technologies such as high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and quantum simulation to process, model, and simulate healthcare innovations.

Atos premiere on Campus

Samantha Jones and Sophie Proust opened the session by giving the audience great food for thought – “Technology isn’t anything on its own” they told us, and they are so very right! Collaboration is essential and technology can help us lead tomorrow’s breakthroughs in healthcare.

Next up was a keynote talk by Peter Coveney, Professor of Physical Chemistry, and Director of the Centre for Computational Science at UCL who took us on a journey to discover the VirtualHuman.

Wellcome Sanger Institute Associate Director Julia Wilson then opened an enticing panel on Harnessing the power of Precision Health, with Sarah Burge, Cecilia Mascolo, Rodriguez Christophe and Andy Grant.

The second panel was then hosted by Gemma Holliday, which looked into Accelerating drug development, with Gosia Trynka, Emmanuel Dequier, Javier Alonso Floriano, Tim Weaving and Katharina Lauer.

Thank you Atos for organising such a great event – a huge official Welcome to Campus!
