Sporting and social events
The Sports and Social Club team arrange sporting and social activities that punctuate the Institute’s calendar. Burns Night Supper, Summer Solstice Punting, Fireworks Night and the Christmas Ball are favourites with staff. Day trips out, quiz nights and other events throughout the year pack the social calendar, helping people across the whole Campus to meet and get to know each other.
The Campus gym is located conveniently at the centre of the Campus in the Cairns building. Everyone on Campus is welcome. Anyone who is employed on the Campus may join the Campus gym for a very low, flat rate membership fee of just £4 per month.
Showers, lockers, changing rooms and long opening hours allow your visit to the gym to work flexibly around your own daytime and worktime routine – whether you like to use the gym before or after work, at lunchtime or other times of the day. Members can just walk in anytime from 6am to 11pm Monday to Friday and even access the gym at weekend by card access.
